SecureChain
SECURECHAIN is a renewable energy project supported by the European Union’s research and innovation programme ‘Horizon 2020’ under the Grant Agreement no. 646457, from 01.04.2015 to 31.03.2018. The main goal is to promote sustainable bioenergy chains in the rural area, which fulfil high environmental standards and are economically viable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME).
In the framework of SECURECHAIN Project, the Cluster of Bioenergy & Environment of Western Macedonia invited SMEs of Western Macedonia Region to participate in the competition for the Innovation Vouchers, aimed at promoting sustainable solid biomass mobilization and bioenergy production.
An innovation voucher entitles a SME or a team of SMEs to work with expert advisors and help their business develop and grow. The winners were provided a comprehensive Innovation Mentoring Package, which comprises the dedicated support by the project during the implementation and includes: the innovation voucher, technical appraisals, training and coaching, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), financial mentoring and sustainability certification.
The proposals of the companies were submitted in October 2015. During the evaluation process, 3 proposals were selected for each project partner. For the region of Western Macedonia, the three winners were the companies A=Z Bioenergia, Alfa Wood – PINDOS S.A and Matesion ltd.
